PUPPIES

A newborn dog is called a puppy. Puppies are the best and most demanded pets of all times. These days bringing up puppies have become a passion and also a profession for many. Due to their high demand and likings puppies are being sold and bought according to their breed and development. Puppies’ size, weight, color and skin depend upon the breed and type of a puppy. Puppies are born by a mother dog after almost 63 days of gestation.

After taking birth the puppies usually develop quickly. They depend upon their mother for food for about 2 months or less. This is time when puppies spend most of the time sleeping or feeding in groups. Initially they always make heaps and remain together near their mother. If the group contains more than 5 or 6 puppies human intervention for feeding the puppies is essential for ensuring adequate nourishment. At the time of birth the puppies can’t open up their eyes but have a great sense of smell that is fully efficient. With this sense of smell they recognize their mother and birth mates.

You might wonder sometimes that even though your newborn puppies do open their eyes but still does not much responds to your inputs. This is so because the newborn puppies have inadequate vision due to improper development of retinas initially. Moreover the ears also remain sealed until 2nd to 3rd week after birth. Puppies usually begin to snarl, nibble, wave to and fro their tails and woof at an age of 2-4 weeks. If you want your puppies to be social and interactive the most important age is between 8-12 weeks. If the puppies receive adequate and healthy interaction with humans and adult dogs the social skills are definitely bound to be better than the opposite group.

If you certainly want that your puppy develops appropriately you have to take care of some important considerations.
