PEKINGESE PUPPIES

Pekingese puppies originated in China and became extremely popular in the court of Queen Victoria. They have existed for centuries and their popularity spread across the globe quite quickly. It is a friendly, independent and low activity lap dog which can survive in a small house or apartment. They need to be extensively socialized. The adult size of Pekingese puppies is between six to nine inches.

 

Pekingese puppies have a long, coarse and straight coat with soft, thick undercoat. One needs to brush them daily. Brushing helps in maintaining a clean and healthy coat. If proper medical care and nutrition is provided, they survive anywhere between 13 to 15 years. It is treated as a national sacred dog in China and it was first registered in 1915 by the American Kennel Association. The litter size is anywhere between 2 to 4. It is an intelligent dog which has great sense of self esteem and is affectionate, sensitive, self centered and snobbish. It is a very good watch dog which learns pretty fast.

 

Pekingese puppies are great companion dogs which exhibit their personality with affection and bravery. They tend to develop Small Dog Syndrome and with proper love, exercise and training they can be a great addition to the family.

 

You need to brush their teeth at least twice a week as it would help in accumulation of plaque and tartar and periodontal diseases. Chinese considered it to be a manifestation of mythical Foo dog which can drive away evil spirits. It is a companion dog which tends to bond quite closely with its master. They tend to suffer from a host of health problems such as heart failure, cold, breathing problems and therefore one need to take proper care of it.
