Saint Bernard puppies belong to a breed of dog which was basically brought up for rescuing. The dog is large in size and became famous with tales of its searching and saving their owners. The name originated and was passed over to local dogs from St. Bernard Pass in the western parts of Alps. Saint Bernard puppies are very cute and good in appearance.
The Saint Bernard puppies require proper care since birth as they are very susceptible to ill health. If they do not get proper nutrition and exercises serious worsening of bones can take place. As Saint Bernard puppies turn out to be very large sized dogs they have to be adequately socialized with other pets, dogs and people otherwise they can definitely cause harm to others. As they are very large in size once they become an adult it can be difficult to deal with even if you are an adult. If given proper training Saint Bernard puppies can grow up to really nice and social pets. So it is a very important responsibility to train them even when they are puppies. One of the things some people don’t like about this breed that they produce a lot of saliva which dribbles all around wherever the dog goes.
Also they can be dangerous to small kids as they can overweigh them due to their large size. Although Saint Bernard dogs are not very aggressive but still they can be trained to provide protection against potential threats. Saint Bernard puppies are considered to be bought up by royal people as these require lots of care and feeding which is expensive at times. The age of this breed is also limited due to increased susceptibility to illness and that’s the reason they have a total life span of almost 8 years.
